Privacy Policy

Thoug is a food discovery project for Dubai restaurants, founded by Danyaal Sami. Thoug is in its pre-launch, founding-partner phase and has not yet launched to the public. When you apply to become a partner, we collect the details you enter in the form: your name, role, phone number, email address, preferred contact method and time, your restaurant's name, location, Instagram handle, cuisine, average spend, number of locations, restaurant group, booking system, featured dishes, quieter days and hours, and anything else you choose to tell us. We also record that you gave consent and when.

If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we keep those conversations so we can follow up.

When you browse the website, we collect basic, aggregated usage information, such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, the website that referred you, and your device and browser type. We use this to understand which parts of the website are useful. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your information.

We use your information to review your application, contact you about becoming a founding partner, prepare and run our early pilot with you if you take part, and improve this website. If you tick the box to receive updates, we'll occasionally email you about Thoug's launch. You can stop these at any time.

We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and store form submissions, such as our website hosting and database providers. These providers may store data on servers outside the United Arab Emirates. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep application details for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, or less if you ask us to delete them.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email sami@thoug.org and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting who can access form submissions. No website can be completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as payment details or identity documents through the form.

Thoug is at an early stage, and we'll update this policy as we grow, including before we launch to members. We'll change the date at the top when we do.
